DR. DIANE GEISE

Dr. Diane Lam Geise was born in New York City and grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. She earned her high school degree from LAMP High School in Montgomery. Dr. Geise continued her academic career at UAB, where she earned her degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Biological Sciences. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Geise went on to complete her doctoral dental degree from UAB. While pursuing her Doctorate of Dental Medicine, she was very active in several organizations - American Student Dental Association (ASDA), American Association of Women Dentist (AAWD), Christian Medical Ministries of Alabama (CMMA), and International College of Dentists. Dr. Geise served as a dental missionary to the communities of Nicaragua. She was also chosen by the International College of Dentists to be an ambassador to France as a part of the exchange program with UAB’s sister school, Chirurgie Dentaire University. While in France she learned much on the practices of European dentistry and their culture.

Dr. Geise is currently a member of the Huntsville-Madison Dental Society Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Geise is continually improving her knowledge in dentistry. Much of her continuing education has been focused in advanced courses in endodontics and exodontia.

Dr. Geise is happily married to Dr. Tyler Geise, who is the dentist at Geise Dental-Huntsville. They are active members of Hazel Green United Methodist Church, where her father-in-law is the senior pastor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband love traveling and their favorite location they have visited is Nice, France. Dr. Geise also speaks Fuzhounese, a dialect from the southeast portion of China.

DR. JAMES LEWIS

James M. Lewis, DMD, DABFO began his general dental practice in Madison over 30 years ago after graduating from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Birmingham, in 1985. Dr. Lewis has supported the community, organized dentistry, and the School of Dentistry by serving on the School’s Executive Council, Leadership Council, President of the Alumni Association and is on the Advisory Board for the Calhoun Community College Dental Assisting Program. Dr. Lewis completed a Fellowship in Forensic Odontology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at the San Antonio Center for Education and Research in Forensics in 2001 and has served as a consultant to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences since 2003. He became Board Certified by the American Board of Forensic Odontology (ABFO) in 2008. Since that time, Dr. Lewis has served on various committees within the ABFO including Dental Age Assessment, Bitemark Evidence and Patterned Injury, Strategic Planning and its Board of Directors. He served on the Board of Governors (2010 – 2013) and in 2012 as the President of the American Society of Forensic Odontology. Dr. Lewis currently is serving on the Executive Committee of the ABFO, has been appointed to the Subcommittee on Forensic Odontology of the National Institute of Standards and Technologies’ (NIST) Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) for Forensic Science, is an adjunct professor at University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine Forensic Dentistry Program, and is a guest faculty member for the Center for Education in Forensic Dentistry as well as the Southwest Symposium on Forensic Dentistry.

Dr. Lewis has been awarded Fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Dr. Lewis resides in Madison where he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two children Gil and Paige, his daughter-in-law Traci, and his new grandson Callen.

NISA

Nisa has been a hygienist at the practice for nine years. She is a graduate from Tanner High School where she earned a scholarship to play softball at Wallace State. At Wallace, she completed the dental assisting program and continued her dental training by obtaining a degree in Dental Hygiene in 2006. Nisa enjoys educating her patients on their oral health and helping them achieve a healthy smile.

Nisa resides in Madison with her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoys watching basketball, football, softball, and spending time with her friends and family. Currently, she is working on becoming a certified personal trainer.

KRISTIN

Kristin is a Florida native but has spent most of her life her in Madison. She graduated from Bob Jones High School in 2006. She developed a passion for the dental field after a car accident landed her in a dental office for six months to correct her smile. That same office offered her a position as a dental assistant.

After some time as an assistant, she realized she wanted to pursue a career in dental hygiene. She graduated from Calhoun Community College with an Associate of Science degree in 2011. She then
completed her Associate in Dental Hygiene from Wallace State in 2014. Kristin has no doubt that selecting a career in dental hygiene is the best decision she has ever made. She is committed to
providing quality care for her patients.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences from Athen State University. She plans on sharing her passion for dental hygiene by teaching continuing education in the future. She is happily married and has a beautiful daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys scary movie nights with her husband and being involved with Girl Scouts with her daughter.

SHAUNA

Shauna has been a dental assistant for over fifteen years. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant Certificate in Springfield, Missouri, in 2001. She and her two children moved to the beautiful
Madison/Huntsville area 13 years ago.

Shauna has been in the practice for over ten years where she has treated our patients with great compassion and care. Ensuring that every patient has a comfortable, positive, and informative experience in our office is what Shauna strives for every day.

She believes that one of the most rewarding aspects of her career is to see the transformation of all our dental family, either from the treatment that they have completed or simply helping them with dental anxiety. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs.

CHRIS

Chris is the office manager, or the "OM," according to the staff. She has been serving our office and our patients, who are like family to her, as the office manager for the past nine years. Chris is also a Certified Pharmacy Technician and has worked for Kroger since she was 17 years old. After 21 years with Kroger, she decided to expand her horizons and enter the dental field.

There are several similarities between the pharmacy and dental fields that made her transition between the two seamless. One of the most important, and most notable similarities, is helping patients understand their future dental needs and understanding their insurance benefits.

Outside of work, Chris spends time with her husband, two children and four grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.

ROSE

Rose has been a dedicated member of our practice for 24 years. She began her career as a dental assistant, and she served in that role for our practice for eight years. She furthered her dental education in dental hygiene at UAB and received her certificate in 2001.

Rose enjoys helping and educating her patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy smile. She is also passionate about talking to her patients and ensuring they feel comfortable during their visits. Rose lives in Huntsville with her husband and children. She enjoys spending time at the ball field where she cheers on her daughter who plays softball.

VANESSA

Vanessa is the treatment coordinator for Geise Dental. She has been a part of the practice for over nine years. Patients can expect to be greeted by Vanessa with a big smile and occasionally, even a song. She earned her degree in criminal justice from Columbia College on Redstone Arsenal.

Vanessa and her husband were high school sweethearts and have two beautiful daughters. Vanessa enjoys working in the office with her sister Shauna. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends and being a soccer mom.
